Waiting for the Ferry

Friday, August 5, 2005 1:00 p.m.

I'm at the library in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, using their ethernet connection. Jeff's a few blocks away tending to the laundry. We have about an hour before we need to return to the ferry terminal to board a ship for Argentia, Newfoundland (on the east coast, south of St. John's.) A fourteen hour passage at a cost of about $150, but it will save having to back-track across Newfoundland (there's only one highway crossing the roughly 350-mile-wide island.) We'll take the shorter ferry back to Nova Scotia from the western Newfoundland city of Port aux Basques.
